Flightmasters of Elkhart County, Ltd.
Minutes of August 9th 2008 club meeting
The meeting was called to order by President Tom Langenhop at the flight field.
Copies of the Treasurers Report were distributed and approved.
Thank you to those doing a great job cutting the grass.
Thad B. missed the July meeting so no notes were taken.
It was brought up by Harold that he liked the windsock Bremen had across the field from the flight line. Every one agreed that it would be a good idea to add one over there. It was suggested to install it on the bridge going over the cow fence.
We need to watch for people that aren’t members. Please welcome new guests and offer to help them if they are interested. There is at least one person using the field without current dues, and we aren’t sure if they have an AMA card. Please watch for this individual or anyone else flying that’s not a member. We can’t afford to have an accident by someone that isn’t covered by AMA and it’s not fair to the paying members if someone is knowingly abusing the field dues. It was brought up that it is okay for someone to fly under a club member 3 times per year as their guest without paying dues.
Denny O and Tom L. found two potential fields for the club to relocate. They were going to check into them and report back to the club. They brought up that the club will have to maintain two fields for at least one year. It will take 1 year to build and get grass established at the new field.
It was suggested that we get emergency direction to the field up on the information board just in case someone gets injured and we need to call for help and explain how to find the field.
Thank you to Mike K. for installing the 2nd gate and reinforcing the hinge.
Tim Linton was unable to do the demonstration on adjusting 4-stroke valves. He will do it next week. He had an eye emergency the day of the club meeting.
The next meeting will be a Saturday September 13th at noon at the field. Bring something to show and tell and of course fly.
Meeting was adjourned.
Thanks
Respectfully submitted
Thad Bessinger Secretary
